Winter Tournament & Court Opening
Thank you to all who attended the opening and to the representatives from Thorntons, Selby Council & Appleton Roebuck Parish Council. The courts looked wonderful and the new tournament format produced an interesting and enjoyable day of tennis. Once again, the final was a very close competition with Ruth Jackson and Andy Howat narrowly beating Pauline Connolly and Ed Zeigler by 6 games to 5 in the final.

Men's Tournament
Congratulations to Tom Shouksmith and Mark Baxter who beat Paul Dadvar and Adrian Shakeshaft to take the delayed 2011 Men's Doubles title.

Ladies Duo Victorious!
The Beryl Bean Rose Bowl Over-55s competition was won for the first time by Appleton Roebuck duo Judy Marriott and Marilyn Almgill. Tollerton’s Sandra Jennings and Ed Hope were runners-up after losing 5-4 to the victors. Jenny Walker and Dinah Burke, of David Lloyd, beat Rowntree Park’s Breeda Gallagher and Sandra Robinson 5-4 to claim third place.


(I know, they must have fibbed about their ages to get in!)

Club Days
Just to remind you that these will run on Wednesdays and Sundays from 1.00pm

Club Nights
Adult club nights are held from the beginning of April until the end of September on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6.30pm (6pm early season) until the light fails.
